Learn the basics of wine tasting, gain an introduction to the range of Spanish wines, and learn why Spain leads the world
in producing flavorful, innovative, and very special wines. The class will also compare French and Spanish wines and winemaking
traditions.
Taste wines from Rioja, Penedes, Catalunya, Rueda, and Jerez with seasoned wine experts.
Instructors: Charles Leary, Ph.D.
Dr. Leary has established wine lists for three restaurants, including the extensive collection of Trout Point Lodge in
Canada. He has studied wine in France, Italy, and Spain including three months living in Bordeaux, and has also studied
wine through the Wine Spectator School, The Cofradía del Vino de Rioja, the Curso de Vino, the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers,
and Viniflhor among other programs.
Vaughn Perret, M.A. has established vineyards in two locations and lived and travelled throughout France, Italy, Germany,
and Spain. He is an expert at the pairing of wine and food.
